YCA participates in WCO 139/140 sessions
YCA chairman Mr.Abdulhakim Alkubati headed Yemen customs delegation in the 140/139th session of WCO council that has been held in Brussels, in which 178 member states are participating.
Alkubati said that this annual meeting represents an opportunity for all countries of the world to meet, discuss and enhance ways of cooperation and coordination in the customs issue, which today represents the most important coordination episode in the issue of trade exchange between countries. He added that Yemen's participation in this conference is a reflection of the reality of what the customs authority occupies. It is a priority in today’s world, and in line with the orientations of the political leadership represented by His Excellency the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi and his deputies, as well as Dr. Moeen Abdul-Malik, the Prime Minister, with the direct support of His Excellency the Minister of Finance Salem Saleh bin Bureik.
The voting activities were in The closing day of the conference on the candidates for the position of Deputy Secretary-General, the Vice-Presidents of the Council, the members of the Policy Committee, the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Finance Committee, and the Chairman, Deputy and members of the Audit Committee.
The date and place of the next sessions of the Council have been determined from June 31, 2022 to June 31, 2023.
On the sidelines of these meetings, YCA chairman held a number of bilateral meetings, separately, with the Secretary-General of the World Customs Organization, Dr. Kunio Mikuriya, the chairman of Egyptian customs MR. El Shahat Al-Ghatouri, the Director General of Jordan Customs, Jalal Al-Qudah, and the Director General of Customs of Sultanate of Oman, Colonel Saeed Al Ghaithi, Director of Capacity Building at the World Customs Organization. In order to discuss the prospects for joint customs cooperation and ways to enhance and develop them and to come up with agreements to support Yemen customs, especially in the field of training, capacity building and infrastructure development for Yemeni customs...
WCO session 139/140has been concluded after days of discussion in customs affairs .
